Remembering The King Of Pop Michael Jackson

MICHAEL JACKSON

Michael Jackson

Today marks the third anniversary of the passing of Michael Jackson. Can you believe it’s been three years since we lost the King of Pop? Gone at the age of 50, his contributions to music and dance have made him the cultural icon we have never seen before. No other artist has garnered more hit records or fans:

- Sold over 750 million records worldwide

- Thriller is the best-selling record of all time

- Induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame twice

- Two Hollywood Walk of Fame stars

- 13 Grammy Awards

- 26 American Music Awards

- 13 number one singles

- Donated more than $300 million to charities

There will never be another Michael Jackson.

The staff at 4UMF would like to take some time out on the third anniversary of the King of Pop’s death to reflect on his music and honor the Gloved One that touched so many hearts.

Smooth Criminal:

By far, my favorite Michael Jackson video. Many choose ‘Thriller’ over ‘Smooth Criminal’ but this 1930s style video was so great, it inspired a Sega video game.

Thriller:

When this video/short film premiered, MTV aired it twice an hour to meet demand. The choreography from ‘Thriller’ is a part of global pop culture that is still used and seen to this day.
