Interview with a Designer.......Nico Foxx

Nico Foxx is a new designer from Detroit, MI with an amazing sense of style. Her clothing line Fourtwnty will be dropping on 4/20/12. The womenswear collection is full of urban streetwear that are targeted to the young, strong, and independent woman.

1.  When did your love of fashion start?
In 8th grade, it didn't expand until I turned 18, I was always a little afraid to hop out the box and express my emotion through fashion.
2. What made you want to start your line?
Some people want to be doctors some people want to  be teachers, I want to  be a fashion designer it’s just what I love so I did so.
3. What made you want to name your line Fourtwnty?
I established my clothing lines name on that date & that day alone also has its own meaning. If you know what i mean *wink wink*
4. What will we expect to see with this collection?
I like to call our SS/12 collection the calm before the storm, not to signature but definitely appealing to the public.
5. Where do you see yourself in the fashion world in the future?
All hopes that I am as big as Marc Jacobs or Chanel, Fourtwnty is an urban line but I do want to get into high fashion once I feel I am ready.
6. How do you get inspired to create? What inspires you?
Wow, great question... I study a lot when it comes to fashion I love its history, but EVERYTHING inspires me!
7. You have such a unique sense of style. Can you describe your personal style?
My own personal style I can’t describe, it’s always based off of my current emotion but I am really into the indie/rock look.
8. Which celebrity would you like wearing your clothes? That makes their personal style stand out for you to want to dress them?
Rihanna, I love how she switches it up from time to time & she does it all & wears them all well... seeing her in my clothes would be amazing b/c she's definitely iconic.
9. I believe in women finding their craft and become liberated, and having that to become creative. Do you think your focus on the success of your line has helped push your creativity?

Yes it does, without a doubt... The fact is that I want so much success and since fashion is in my interest and a huge part of my life it has pushed me to better myself overall when it comes to anything fashion. I love to learn the history behind it and the illustration, I love it all and since I've been working so hard on Fourtwnty I want for things to run smoothly and for me to be an success, I'd have to know what I'm doing in every aspect. There is always room for progression I always say.
